Talk:Composed weapon affixes

mangling and mauling are suffixes --Cru121 (ContributionsMessage) 09:08, November 20, 2012 (EST) I got it fixed. by Mjoll (ContributionsMessage) 09:35, November 20, 2012 (EST)

A Thousand Suns[edit]

There seem to be multiple variations on this one.

Two pulled after U16...

Coruscating, Firey Detonation, Greater Sunburst

Coruscating, Greater Sunburst, Holy Burst

Could be a similar list to the variations on Star of Day Glenalth (ContributionsMessage) 16:36, January 26, 2013 (EST)

I was under the impression that the effects for this one are just CoruscatingIcon tooltip.pngCoruscating : This weapon shines with an inner light. A coruscating weapon deals an extra 2 to 12 points of light damage on a successful hit. and Greater SunburstIcon tooltip.pngGreater Sunburst: This weapon blazes with the eternal fury at the heart of the sun. Occasionally, this power comes to the surface, unleashing a nova of light which will blind the struck enemy, dealing severe light damage to it and any other nearby foes.. Holy BurstIcon tooltip.pngHoly Burst: A holy weapon is imbued with holy power. This power makes the weapon good-aligned and thus bypasses the corresponding damage reduction. It deals an extra 2 to 12 points of damage against all of evil alignment and an extra 3 to 18 on a critical for weapons with a x2 critical multiplier, 4 to 24 for a x3 multiplier, and 5 to 30 for x4 multiplier. is a prefix so it wouldn't count towards "of A Thousand Suns" although Fiery DetonationIcon tooltip.pngFiery Detonation: This weapon is imbued with a fiery wrath. On an attack roll of 20 which is confirmed as a critical hit this burning power will be released, dealing damage to the target and all enemies near it for 15d6 fire damage. A successful Fortitude save (DC 39) reduces this by half. is a suffix which confuses me only slightly. I'll dig through the AH on Cannith and see if I can find any other versions and build a list to figure it out.

Coruscating is also a prefix - could be that these are similar to named items in that they don't have to follow the lootgen rules. I'll check the Thelanis AH

You are VERY unlikely to find any "thousand suns" on the AH. I have personally never seen a single one on the Sarlona AH despite checking daily since it was introduced. They are 2% of 6% of the +17 weapons table, which itself is only 5% for a weapon in a level 27 chest. About 1 in 100,000 pulls from a level 27 chest? Compare to (according to Feather) 1 in 1332 for a 4->5 upgrade tome.

I can confirm, though, that some of the higher level rare affixes do have multiple variations and that Thousand Suns is one of them. I haven't paid enough attention to tell what they are exactly though.

Re:ShoeMaker, composed affixes can contain any effect, whether it's "normally" a prefix or suffix. Cdr (ContributionsMessage) 20:25, January 26, 2013 (EST)

Page updated with Glenalth's data; Obscenity also went through a change, Evil Burst being replaced by Supreme Evil. by Mjoll (ContributionsMessage) 06:49, January 27, 2013 (EST)
Recently came across Brilliance/Greater Sunburst/Firey Detonation and Coruscating/Greater Sunburst/Holy Burst. Updated page accordingly. Cdr (ContributionsMessage) 12:49, February 27, 2013 (EST)

Corrosive[edit]

I added Corrosive. I know there are other versions of it.

Obscenity[edit]

Someone came to address me on irc about this:

"< Nick> (Tell): <Player> tells you, '+6 Obscene Bastard Sword of Stunning'. Now Obsenity is there as a suffix. But the wiki doesn't have Obscene as a prefix. I dont' have edit priviledges so could someone adjust this page to include Obscene? If you examine it it does the same thing as Obsenceity but it is a prefix."

However I'm not too familiar with item related stuff yet :S Silvyrfir (ContributionsMessage)

Mauling-Mangling[edit]

Maybe it a little late to post this but i have seen mangling as bot prefix/suffix. Saw a seeker longsword of mangling and a mangling scimitar of Backstabbing.Sforza (ContributionsMessage) 09:55, October 28, 2014 (EDT)

  • I'm pretty sure there are actually two different effects called mangling. One is a prefix (that combines a couple other prefixes iirc) and the other is a suffix that is only one effect. I'll try to come up with screenshots that show both so we can decide how to deal with this (I may just ask Jerry to get one of them renamed in game).
