Name: Talbron Tewn

Race: Warforged

Gender: Male

Bestows Quest(s): Finding the Path, Brothers of the Forge

Locations:

Description: <Sorcerer> <Sorcerer Trainer>

Notes: Talbron will guide through your first adventure in The Grotto. He and his party then helps you by distracting Aussircaex while you go in search of the Quori Mindsunder. After that, he becomes the Sorcerer trainer in The Harbor. You will also encounter him again in the Wylkes Manor, taking care of a magically sick Jeets Shimis. He sends you to find out the reason for Jeets's state. Much later, you can see him at House Cannith Enclave. He wants some help to come with him to the Mournland.

Shipwreck Shore[edit]

When you first start a character in the game, Talbron is the second character you meet. He will not allow you to proceed to The Grotto until you get a proper weapon.

Before getting a weapon from Jeets:

  • Talbron Tewn: Jeets may be able to equip you with a weapon. This island is too dangerous to wander about without one.

After getting a weapon from Jeets but before equipping it:

  • Talbron Tewn: You know how to use your weapon? Equip it and let me see you attack.

After equipping weapon but before returning to Jeets:

  • Talbron Tewn: You should speak with my compatriot, Jeets the Rogue.

While being led by Talborn to The Grotto:

  • Talbron Tewn: Cellimas is in the Grotto. I shall show you the way.
  • Talbron Tewn: This is all from dragon wrecked ships like yours.
  • Talbron Tewn: Tell me, was it exciting to see a dragon up close?
  • Talbron Tewn: It's only snowing because the dragon's frozen the island.
  • Talbron Tewn: You can smash open these crates and take what you need.

If you wander off the path or turn back while being led by Talborn:

  • Talbron Tewn: Go ahead and look around. I'm here when you're ready to go to Cellimas.

When you reach the entrance to The Grotto:

  • Talbron Tewn: Here we are. Go inside and speak with Cellimas. I'll wait here for Jeets.

If you return to Shipwreck Shore after completing The Grotto:

The Grotto[edit]

Talbron fights alongside you at several points during this quest. He is extremely powerful compared to the low level sahuagin.

When he first makes his appearance:

  • Talbron Tewn: <Name>! We come to assist you. Onward to glory!

While waiting at the door before the sahuagin ambush:

  • Talbron Tewn: Now that we have combined arms, nothing shall fell us.

Right before Jeets yells "Trap!" and the sahuagin ambush begins:

  • Talbron Tewn: It would be logical to assume...

While searching for a way out of the sahuagin ambush chamber:

  • Talbron Tewn: Curious. I just stepped on something. A latch?

While waiting for the key to be recovered from the water:

  • Talbron Tewn: My joints rust easily. I will read until the situation resolves itself.

While waiting for door to be unlocked:

  • Talbron Tewn: I am anxious to proceed. Unlock the door, if you please.

While at the shrines:

  • Talbron Tewn: Shrines like these can be found across Eberron. Their energies heal and invigorate.
    • You: What does the moon shrine do?
      • Talbron Tewn: Touch it. It will restore your health, and if you are a spellcaster, your ability to use magic. The shrine will require a few minutes to recharge afterwards.
        • You: What does the sun shrine do? (see below)
    • You: What does the sun shrine do?
      • Talbron Tewn: Should your companions fall in battle, their souls remain tied to their soulstones for a time. With those stones and this shrine, you may draw your allies back into this plane of existance[sic]. Of course, Cellimas prevents you or I from falling with her spell. She is quite powerful.
        • You: What does the moon shrine do? (see above)

At the door leading to the Sahuagin High Priestess:

  • Talbron Tewn: I will open the door. Prepare yourself.
  • Talbron Tewn: Ready...
  • Talbron Tewn: Go!

After defeating the Sahuagin High Priestess but before opening the secret door:

  • Talbron Tewn: You've handled yourself quite well. Keep it up.

While waiting near the exit to The Grotto:

  • Talbron Tewn: Our journey has ended, and we part ways soon. Farewell.

Misery's Peak[edit]

After rescuing Lars Heyton, and being directed at Misery's Peak, you will find again Talbron and his party.

  • Talbron Tewn: Heyton plans for us to serve as Dragon bait while you strike. Please do not fail.

After you destroy the Mindsunder, he will meet you with the others:

  • Talbron Tewn: It will take hours to remove the fang marks from my armor.

The Harbor[edit]

Talbron can be found outside The Wayward Lobster and is a Sorcerer Trainer.

  • Talbron Tewn: I am pleased to see you are still alive, <name>.
  • Talbron Tewn: Jeets and I visit every tavern we come across. You can often find interesting jobs, and the Spirit Binders will resurrect your spirit if you fall in battle.
  • Talbron Tewn: Speaking of battle, do you wish to learn how to use magic in battle? I would be pleased to teach you in the ways of Sorcery.

Wylkes Manor[edit]

If you try to talk to him while at level 15 or lower, he will reply:

  • Talbron Tewn: Pardon me, but I have no time for conversation right now.

If you are at level 16 or higher, however, he will reply:

  • Talbron Tewn: Pardon me if I seem distracted. My friend Jeets is ill and I am extremely concerned.
  • Talbron Tewn: Jeets disappeared while investigating the Inspiration Center for Graden Wylkes. He was later found in a nearby alley in his present delirious state.
  • Talbron Tewn: I am convinced that the cause of Jeets' illness can be found somewhere in the Inspiration Center. If you discover the cause of his malady I would be extremely grateful.
    • You: Don't worry, I'll look into it. What can you tell me about the Inspiration Center?
      • Talbron Tewn: The Inspiration Center is where new recruits are initiated into the Path of Inspiration.
      • Talbron Tewn: Jeets had been hired by Graden Wylkes to investigate both the Inspiration Center and the Dar Qat Trade Mission.
      • Talbron Tewn: But something terrible happened to him inside the Inspiration Center. He hasn't recovered consciousness since.
        • You: I'll go to the Inspiration Center and find out what happened to Jeets. (Bestow Quest)
    • You: Talbron, its me! Don't you remember our adventures on Korthos?
      • Talbron Tewn: Of course, my friend! It is good to see you again. You have changed much since the last time we met.
      • Talbron Tewn: I'm sorry I did not recognize you at first, but as I said, Jeets's condition weighs heavily on my mind.
        • You: Don't worry, I'll look into it. What can you tell me about the Inspiration Center? (see above)

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

  • Talbron Tewn: Have you been to the Inspiration Center yet? The sooner you go, the sooner we can start working on a cure for my friend Jeets.

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:

  • Talbron Tewn: So the Path of Inspiration tried to control you through your dreams? Hmm, I wonder whether that is what happened to Jeets. he is a good friend but he is not very ... strong-willed.
  • Talbron Tewn: Tell the healer Valkin Ronsa what you have learned. He may be able to use this information to find a cure for Jeets.

After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

  • Talbron Tewn: Hello again, my friend. I'm afraid Jeets has had a bit of a relapse.

House Cannith Enclave[edit]

If you try to talk to him while at level 23 or lower, he will reply:

  • Talbron Tewn: A good day to you, traveler.

If you are at level 24 or higher, however, he will reply either:

  • Talbron Tewn: <name>! I was hoping I would find you. I am seeking companions to travel with me to the Mournland of Cyre... to the place where I was born.

- or -

  • Talbron Tewn: <class> - I do not think we've meet [sic]. It is a pleasure. I seek companions to travel with me to the Mournland of Cyre... to the place where I was born.

Next:

    • You: So why are we going there?
      • Talbron Tewn: I have received word from one of my cohort - the Warforged with whom I was made and trained. An old friend. He has asked me to meet him there and would not have done so unless it was important.
      • Talbron Tewn: Sill, I am wary. I would prefer to go with companions by my side. Traveling to my birth-forge in the Mournland will likely be dangerous, edifying, and rewarding. Will you join me?
        • You: To the Mournland it is, then! (Bestow quest, Start the quest)
    • You: What about Jeets? Cellimas?
      • Talbron Tewn: Thought he is not pleased about it, I have decided to take this journey without Jeets. I have my reasons. And Cellimas has found... battles of her own, elsewhere. It appears I am alone - and the Mournland is no place for a lone sorcerer, I am afraid.
        • You: Tell me about the Mournland.
          • Talbron Tewn: The Mournland was once the kingdom of Cyre. Now it is a vast scar across the northern continent of Khorvaire. Truly, it is a forbidding wasteland. It is also the place where I and my cohort were made.
            • You: So why are you going there? (see above)

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

  • Talbron Tewn: I had not anticipated coming back to Stormreach so soon. Is it time to return to the Mournland, yet, <name>?
    • You: Yes, let us head out at once. (Return to quest)

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:

  • Talbron Tewn: It is good to be back in Stormreach, <name>. I do not think I will return to my birth-forge anytime soon. Still, I believe it was an... important experience.
  • Talbron Tewn: It is thanks to you I have returned at all, so please let me to express my gratitude in the conventional manner: a reward.

After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

  • Talbron Tewn: I intend to travel to my birth-forge in the Mournland of Cyre. Will you accompany me, <class>, to learn why I was summoned there?
