Due to potential game changes, the Minimum System Requirements for this game may change over time. Please be sure to take a look at Turbine's latest official information here.

Dungeons & Dragons Online currently supports Microsoft Windows and has beta support for Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8 .

DDO was ported and validated using newer Mac hardware and as such the requirements presented tend to err on the higher end. There are currently no accurate 'minimum' system requirements.

The OS X Client for DDO uses OpenGL for rendering. At the Ultra High setting OpenGL renders all DirectX 9 content. There are a few features present in the DirectX 10 and 11 that are not supported at this time including:

  • Shadow Maps
  • Soft Shorelines
  • Soft particles
  • Volumetric sunlight
  • Ambient Occlusion
  • Interactive Water

Support for Other Computers and Operating Systems[edit]

For older Macs with Intel processors DDO may still be able to be run either using Boot Camp to host a Windows installation or by using a virtualization application such as Parallels, VMWare Fusion, or WINE. Intel Integrated Graphics may prove ineffectual for rendering the game, a dedicated graphics card is highly recommended. PowerPC Macs are not supported.

Linux users may opt to try Wine a virtualizing software that allows many Windows applications to operate in the UNIX-like operating system.
