Shield Proficiency (General)
- Usage: Passive
Description
Benefit: You are proficient with Bucklers, Small and Large Shields, and do not suffer the armor check penalty to attack rolls when wielding one.
Note that a shield with an ACP of 0 can be worn without additional penalty to attack rolls by all characters whether they're proficient with it or not. You will however still be reminded in the upper right corner of the screen that you are not proficient with what you are wielding.
EG: All Mithral non-tower shields shields have 0 ACP. The ASF (if any) still still apply however - which is none for a for a Mithral Buckler/Light Shield, and 5% for Mithral Large Shield.
Notes:
- Does not grant proficiency with Tower Shields - that requires an addition feat, which has this as a per-requisit.
- The armor check penalty to skills (if any) and arcane spell failure (if any) of the shield you equip will still apply.
