Attack: Sword (slashing), Bite (piercing), Spell: Fireball, Force Missiles, Lightning Bolt, Hold Person. In the end fight, he switches to the following spells: Mind Fog, Crushing Despair, Ball Lightning, Hold Monster, Otiluke's Freezing Sphere, Sunburst, Acidball, Waves of Exhaustion.

Description: The Prince spawns in each of the six glyph rooms after each glyph is read (so long as the glyphs are read in the correct order). He is not a required kill in those rooms and Dimension Door can be used to avoid fighting him. He also spawns in the first of two end fights with Lailat, where he is a required kill.

When you read the Glyph of the Bat, he will say:

• Prince of Swords: (Arrival) Ugh! your presence fouls the shrine of the bat!
• Prince of Swords: (50% HP) Your kind stumbles through darkness, afraid of shadows, afraid of yourselves....
• Prince of Swords: (Defeat) When the darkness closes around you, remember that Lailat will be there!

When you read the Glyph of the Monkey, he will say:

• Prince of Swords: (Arrival) You honor the sword of the monkey? How appropriate!
• Prince of Swords: (50% HP) You are fools and villains, a mockery of the heroes you wish to be....

When you read the Glyph of the Octopus, he will say:
