Pack Aptitude
Name: | Pack Aptitude |
---|---|
School: | Transmutation |
Spell Level: | Drd 5 |
Components: | SomaticSomatic: A somatic component is a measured and precise movement of the hand. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot move causing arcane spell failure resulting in a ruined spell. Spells without a somatic component may be used with disregard to Arcane Spell Failure chance. Note - that characters make the same arm gestures for most spells in DDO, so you can't tell which spells require this component by watching your character's animations., MaterialMaterial: A material component is one or more physical substances or objects that are annihilated by the spell energies in the casting process. You must have the required items in your inventory. If you run out of the components, the game will not allow you to cast the spell and will instead inform you of what component is missing. The metamagic feat Eschew Materials and some enhancements in Draconic Incarnation can remove this restriction. , FocusFocus: A focus component is a prop of some sort. Unlike a material component, a focus is not consumed when the spell is cast and can be reused. This has no gameplay applications in DDO, as all characters are always considered to be carrying a focus component at all times and it does not require a inventory slot. |

Description
Forms a link between a leader and his or her pack, granting all of the target's hirelings, pets, summoned creature, and charmed creatures a circumstance bonus to an ability score. It grants a +2 bonus per 3 caster levels [error, appears to be +2 per 6], with a maximum of +6. The caster chooses which ability score to increase. Only one may be active at a time.
Note:
- Base spell provides a spell-selector list of six options: Pack Splendor, Pack Endurance, Pack Grace, Pack Cunning, Pack Strength and Pack Wisdom. These provide bonuses to Charisma, Constitution, Dexterity, Intelligence, Strength and Wisdom, respectively.
- Bug: bonus does not appear to grant at +2 per 3 caster levels, but instead appears to be maxed at +4 total as soon as the spell is available.
- Update 60: Pack Aptitude now properly grants its +6 bonus, and its tooltip has been corrected.
