Looking for editors[edit]

We are working to make the wiki the best tool around. Lots of pages need to be updated, refactored, cleaned up. This is lots of work ahead, but it is not scaring us. But, like I said, this is lots of work.. and time. This is why we are looking for editors. We do not ask for editors to a perfect knowledge of the whole game. However, say you know a lot about weapons, then you could take care of the items section. You capped all the casters in the game? The spells section needs a lot of love as there are a lot of effects to verify.

Don't be scared to mess up on the lay out or what ever has to do with the wiki language - the entire wiki is non-destructible, meaning that anything you do, can be undone. We do not bite, we'll correct you and teach you the right way. Correction is much shorter than creation - If you got any questions, hit me on my Talk page! -- Borror0 17:54, July 21, 2007 (EDT)

Server migration - update[edit]

Just as an update - we've discovered that the migration to a new server will take longer than planned, because we'll be moving over nearly every page on the wiki by hand (and in the process, checking them over for errors, and in general improving the quality and organization of the entire wiki at one go). Due to this fact, the database has been un-locked, so that you may edit in new data. However, as we move pages, we'll be marking them as Migrated - this will be obvious, and once a page has been migrated, we ask that you not edit it further on this wiki, because those changes won't get transferred to the new wiki. We won't be outright locking pages we migrate (due to possibly necessary Module 6 changes in the near future), but please respect the 'Migrated!' notices. Thanks for your patience. elliottcable (talk, site) 02:55, January 27, 2008 (EST)

Server move[edit]

We are currently in the process of moving the wiki from one server to another. The wiki will continue to be available, but you will be unable to edit the content until the new wiki is available. When the move is complete, the wiki will be much faster, as well as much easier to browse. If you have any questions, just jump in the chat room and say hi! elliottcable (talk, site) 00:53, January 23, 2008 (EST)

Live chat[edit]

We've added a new way for editors to collaborate on content and discuss DDO - live chat! Feel free to join in anytime, it can support up to 15 channel members chatting at one time. It's a great way to work with other editors, and work out content disputes. If you want to discuss something with other editors, you can get in the chat room and add the tl|chat_now template to the existing talk page discussion! There is usually also a sysop in there, or one willing to jump in there quickly, if you need something taken care of. elliottcable (talk, site) 22:43, January 20, 2008 (EST)

Advertisements, looking for capable administrator[edit]

In case you haven't noticed, there are advertisements up on the site again, This is not to support the site itself technically, but to make an attempt to provide you a better resource. To that end, we're now (again) looking fora new administrator for the site. If you're interested, we require that you A) play Dungeons & Dragons Online, and B) have a generous amount of time to dedicate to managing the wiki. Your payment will be in direct proportion to the amount of work you dedicate to the site, as you will be given 70% of all advertising revenue from the ads shown on this site. After a short period of time to evaluate your service, we may also pay for your subscription to DDO. Please leave all applications on my user talk page. Mr. Cable 19:14, April 27, 2007 (EDT)

Upgrade complete[edit]

You may have noticed some downtime earlier today, but things are (for the most part) back up and running as of now! We've examined the original parent of our software, MediaWiki, and diffed in many of the changes they've developed since we forked in early janurary. That means lots of new toys for the users! Conditional clauses in wikiML, all sorts of bug fixes, and we can finally see a way to get some of the enhancements we've been dreaming about written! It's a good day for the network, and for you too. Have a nice day, elliottcable (talk, site) 23:12, January 2, 2007 (EST)

Happy New Year[edit]

Hello all - just a quick note from me to the editors: have a happy new year! I know I certainly will! (-: elliottcable (talk, site) 06:23, January 1, 2007 (EST)

New Characters section active[edit]

After some crazy categorization and template transclusion work, I've set up a new 'characters' section (you can visit it here). It'd be awesome if everybody created a page for each of their characters - opens thousands of new avenues of usefulness for the wiki, and creates myriad new ways for people to use this site to their advantage. Watch your character pages often, as they'll be your own responsibility to administrate (-: [e] · t & c 04:02, December 24, 2006 (EST)

Live Preview beta test[edit]

I've been working on a Live Preview feature, and I'd like the users to test it for me. You can enable it in the Editing section of your preferences, and then after your first time clicking 'preview', the subsequent previews are automatically updated without reloading the page. It's very useful, and it's worked fine for me so far. Let me know if you can break it! Thanks, [e] · t & c 13:32, December 7, 2006 (EST)

Sigh. Finally got my account[edit]

For those of you who had to wait while the network was suspended, I apologize. But I have to say, I'm glad I did it, it certainly worked. I got my forum account, finally. GG though, that should have been unnecessary. I must say I really don't like Turbine's public relations. [e] · t & c 19:11, December 5, 2006 (EST)

Visit our Darkfall Online wiki, and contribute something![edit]

It's been a while since I've posted any news, but I do have this tidbit - we just launched a Darkfall Online wiki; if you are interested in that game, or plan to play it; then feel free to contribute whatever information you may have to the DF wiki! [e] · t & c 07:05, December 2, 2006 (EST)

EnterWiki Network - Now 80% FASTER![edit]

We've heard your complaints about speed, and acted on them! Announcing the new EnterWiki Network, with speed optimizations to make it over 50% faster, sometimes even as much as 200%! Have fun, and contribute! Elliott Cable - ?+¿ - ‹·› 18:00, September 12, 2006 (EDT)

WAR Wiki launched![edit]

We've launched a Warhammer: Age of Reckoning Wiki for everybody to use and contribute to. We plan to make this our next DDO wiki, and to provide all the content we possibly can for our users, just as we have here. If anybody is interested in it, please go contribute! We're also looking for dedicated people to help with the administration (a 100% free, unlimited WAR account may be in the bargain, so contact us soon!). We're really excited about this new project, so go contribute to WAR Wiki! Elliott Cable - ?+¿ - ‹·› 11:32, August 29, 2006 (EDT)

A MILLION Pageloads![edit]

Yep, you read that right - a million, 1,000,000 pageloads. It's staggering. I'm actually a bit out of date here, this was almost two weeks ago - I've been busy with quite a few other projects - but anyway, EnterWiki is at a million pages loaded, over 100 THOUSAND unique people to visit the site - thats a lot incase you couldn't tell! The most current numbers as I post this are 1,180,641 pageloads and 111,067 unique visitors (thats different computers and different cookies, so its pretty accurate) - averaging around 5,250 pageloads a day, and 200,000 a month. Mind you this has only been counting for part of EnterWikis life - we may well have actually breached 1,500,000 pageloads, but I have no way of telling for sure where as this is concrete info I can feed you, and I much prefer this. Anyway, thanks for all of your support so far and thanks for letting us become this useful to the community - keep it up, I say! Lets make more and more people find this place and use it to its full extent! Over and out --Elliott Cable - ?+¿ - ‹·› 08:47, August 7, 2006 (EDT)

New control bar[edit]

The latest in a series of additions to the site's functionality and design includes the new control bar (the dark steel-grey bar in-between the header and the content) and it's dropdowns. I haven't yet added a sitemap (the searchglass icon) dropdown, but the tools one (the gear) is fully functional, so feel free to immediately begin using it! As usual, if you discover a bug, please report it on the discussion page, and enjoy our site! Don't forget to register and contribute (-; Elliott Cable - ?+¿ - ‹·› 07:13, May 22, 2006 (EDT)

1000 pages[edit]

Check out the good news: We just hit 1000 pages! One thousand pages! Wow, that is almost unfathomable - ONE THOUSAND pages of info about Dungeons and Dragons Online, all contributed by users like you! In celebration, I'm disabling the advertisements for the entire weekend, and presenting you with a cleaner, more structured sidebar! For those interested to know, the 1000th page was created by the anonymous user 68.186.14.180 on 11:26, April 20, 2006 - you can find it over at Protection! Congrats all, can't tell you how happy I am! Elliott Cable
