Drowning Sorrows Tavern[edit]

If you try to talk to her while at level 3 or lower, she will reply:

  • Mirra Parthilcar: Greetings, what brings you to Parthilcar tower?
  • You: Please tell me about the tower.
  • Mirra Parthilcar: Very well. Parthilcar Tower was gifted to the Coin Lord Andarin Parthilcar over three hundred years ago. The tower, until that time, had been under the control of an elven emissary from Aerenal. little knowledge of her is still held in the city archives. We know her last name was Ir'neth, though not much else.
  • You: [Keep listening.]
  • Mirra Parthilcar: Five generations of the Parthilcar family have lived inside this tower, I am the last of my line since my brother's death. I will keep this tower for as long as I can. Many members of the city have been kind enough to offer me support during this trying time.
  • You: Thank you for the information.

If you are at level 4 or higher, however, she will reply:

  • Mirra Parthilcar: <name>, how good to see you again. Mirra yawns. I am sorry, I have not been sleeping at all. I keep hearing odd noises, like a person wailing followed by the sounds of scratching coming from my basement.
  • You: Have you been into the basement to check on these noises?
  • Mirra Parthilcar: Into the basement? Goodness, no. Canton made sure that I never went into the basement. Nothing there for me. It was his space. Since his death... I have not had the heart to go there. Mirra pauses. Would you be interested in helping me find out what is causing the noises?
    • You: What would you like me to do, Mirra?
      • Mirra Parthilcar: How kind of you. Mirra smiles. Go into my basement and find the source of the wailing and scratching. If you can make it stop, I would be most appreciative.
      • You: I will find what is causing your sleepless nights. (Bestow quest)
      • Mirra Parthilcar: May the blessings of the Sovereign Host be with you if you find anything dangerous there. Thank you again, <name>.
        • You: I will be careful, Mirra. (Walk away)
        • You: [Nod and walk off.]
    • You: I am sorry, Mirra, I do not have the time. (Walk away)

Talking to her after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make she say:

  • Mirra Parthilcar: Please, I have not slept in days and the wailing grows louder each night. Can you find the source and end my suffering?
    • You: I will head into the basement now.
    • You: [Walk away.]

On completion of quest, she will congratulate you with the following:

  • Mirra Parthilcar: Oh, <name>, you have returned. Tell me, <???/miss>, what did you find in my basement?
  • You: I found the source of wailing and the scratching. But, I am afraid that the reasons are going to be very painful for you.
  • Mirra Parthilcar: Painful? How is that <name>?
  • You: Your brother Canton did not die at sea, as you thought. He died in the basement trying to seal away some threat that lay deep beneath this tower and the city.
  • Mirra Parthilcar: Oh Canton, you fool! Mirra whispers softly and tears swell in her eyes. Always poking about where you did not belong.
  • You: He is at rest now, Mirra.
  • Mirra Parthilcar: Look at me going on. Mirra manages a weak smile. Canton has been gone for a good while now and though the manner of his loss has changed, he is still gone. Thank you for setting his soul to rest and thank you for ending his wailing.
  • You: Mirra, I may have cleared out the basement area for the moment, but I am not certain that they will stay away.
  • Mirra Parthilcar: I understand. I will make sure to alert the proper authorities.
  • You: Be well, Mirra.

After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to her again, she will reply:

  • Mirra Parthilcar: I have been sleeping much better recently thanks to what you have done, <name>. Thank you.
  • You: Be well, Mirra.
