Lesto Half-Price
Name: Lesto Half-Price
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Bestows Quest(s): Stealthy Repossession
Affiliation(s): The Free Agents
Location: The Harbor, south of The Marketplace gate
Description: <Peddler>
The Harbor[edit]
If you try to talk to him anytime, he will reply:
- Lesto Half-Price: What? Why are you looking at me? I'm a legitimate trader! I sell... second-hand goods to undiscerning customers.
- Lesto Half-Price: Let's say a shipment of fine cloth arrives from Aerenal. A couple of bolts get soaked by seawater. Buyer doesn't want them, seller doesn't want them.
- Lesto Half-Price: Lesto gets them cheap, and sells to those who aren't so picky. Beggars, farm folk, Kobolds...
- You: You sell your goods to kobolds?
- Lesto Half-Price: Kobolds! They're stupid creatures - and cruel! But sometimes they have a few coppers.
- Lesto Half-Price: Last month I got my hands on the cheapest glass gem you've ever seen. So naturally, I found the nearest Kobold Shaman and sold it as the "Dread Eye of Khyber."
- Lesto Half-Price: You should've heard the noises he made - paid ten times what it was worth!
- Lesto Half-Price: But now, word of the "Dread Eye" has spread to every kobold in Stormreach! Their self-proclaimed prophets are worked up - shrieking, dancing and carrying on. I'm afraid "Khyber" will tell them to eat some poor sailor, and then I'll be blamed!
- Lesto Half-Price: Say, maybe you could get the gem back? You'd just have to sneak by their "prophets" without killing them.
- You: Sure, I'll get your "Eye" back, and the kobolds will never know I was there. (Bestow quest)
- You: What? Why shouldn't I kill the Kobold Prophets?
- Lesto Half-Price: Killing their prophets will just whip the Kobolds into a frenzy, knowing that some outsider came in and did it - not to mention taking their prized "Eye."
- Lesto Half-Price: They'd be sure to retaliate, killing innocent folks and such. And then we'd be back to me being blamed. Coin Lord Amanatu takes a dim view of inciting Kobold riots. He personally chopped off the head of the last idiot who did that... (gulp).
- Lesto Half-Price: No, much better to make the Gem disappear. Then the prophets will start blaming each other - next thing you know the Kobolds will be killing each other off.
- You: Sure, I'll get your "Eye" back, and the kobolds will never know I was there. (Bestow quest)
- You: Anything good for sale today?
- Lesto Half-Price: I don't sell much to your type—not much call for rusted shovels or dry-rotted leather.
- Lesto Half-Price: That's Kobold stuff... ah! Those yapping vermin will be the death of me!
- You: Doing business with Kobolds can be dangerous. (see above)
- You: You sell your goods to kobolds?
Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:
- Lesto Half-Price: You got the gem?
- Lesto Half-Price: Wonderful! Now I can sleep at night, knowing that I won't be blamed for the next Kobold riot.
- Lesto Half-Price: From now on, I'll stick to selling month-old meat to bugbears!
- You: Month-old meat to...? Nevermind, I don't want to know.
After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:
- Lesto Half-Price: My life is back to normal—I'm not laden in riches, but I'm not dealing with kobolds either.
- Lesto Half-Price: Thanks for getting me out of trouble.
