If you try to talk to him while at level 2 or lower, he will reply:
- Kranig Stoneshield: Of all the taverns and inns in Stormreach, this place still has the best ales and meads.
If you are at level 3 or higher, however, he will reply:
- Kranig Stoneshield: Evening, <class>! What brings you to this old scribe's table today?
- You: You're a scribe? That explains the outfit.
- Kranig Stoneshield: Aye, I am and it would. But being a senior scribe for House Kundarak does have its benefits. There is a wealth of information in some of our vaults. For instance, I was going through some records today and found that a couple of properties we own have become infested with monsters lately.
- You: Infested by monsters?
- Kranig Stoneshield: One is a recently foreclosed property which Lorridan would know more about. She's sitting at that table by the barkeep. The other one is a property we'd unknowingly rented to some cultists from the Blood of Vol.
- You: What did the Blood of Vol do to the place?
- Kranig Stoneshield: They have this sick fascination with death and the undying. The cultists were taken care of, but the mess they left behind - well, nobody has dealt with it yet. I know House Kundarak would pay well to have that place cleansed. Would you know of anyone who might be interested in a task such as that?
- You: Actually, I do. What exactly needs to be done?
- Kranig Stoneshield: Exterminate the undead. House Kundarak will take care of the rest.
- You: Ok. (Bestow quest)
- Kranig Stoneshield: Come back here when you've finished.
Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:
- Kranig Stoneshield: Keep your eyes open. I'd expect there to be all manners of undead in that place.
On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:
- Kranig Stoneshield: Kranig smiles at you over the rim of his tankard before speaking to you. I'm very impressed with your work, <name>. Are you part of Deneith's Defenders Guild?
- You: No, I'm just good at what I do.
After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:
- Kranig Stoneshield: Kranig smiles at you over the rim of his tankard before speaking to you. I'm very impressed with your work, <name>. Are you part of Deneith's Defenders Guild?
