If you try to talk to him before finishing the quest Free Delera, he will reply:
- Hargo Kimmare: I don't know you, nor do I want to. Now get out of here before I lose my temper.
After completing the Delera's Tomb arc, however, he will reply:
- Hargo Kimmare: Got a death-wish, stranger? Leave me alone if you know what's good for you.
After talking to Derek Grospic about Delera's ghost, he will change his attitude:
- Hargo Kimmare: Any other day and I would slice you up for walking up to me. Today, though, I'm in a good mood. Tell me what you want and make it quick.
- You: Delera mentioned your name. Or rather, her ghost did.
- Hargo Kimmare: No.. it can't be! Get away from me! Don't ever mention her name again! (Bestow chain)
- You: Thought you were someone else. I'll be on my way. (Walk away)
- You: Delera mentioned your name. Or rather, her ghost did.
After acquiring the chain, you must extract the truth from him:
- Hargo Kimmare: Delera's ghost haunted my dreams for months after her death. The dreams have finally stopped; I will not have you bring back memories of her!
- You: (Bluff 3+) Listen—we don't have much time. I faced off against Delera and barely survived. I'm convinced she's following me....
- Hargo Kimmare: You must leave at once! You can't let her find me!
- You: I think I can help put her ghost to rest. She said she ordered you not to harm a girl, but you didn't listen...
- Hargo Kimmare: I lied! I lied to everyone to save my reputation. I was ordered to kill the Baron and his wife. After killing the Baron, I couldn't bring myself to kill the rest of his family in cold blood so I let the wife and daughter flee to Khorvaire. (Advance chain)
- You: Save your whimpering. I'll pay gold to know the truth about your past.
- Hargo Kimmare: Even nightmares have a price. I'll tell you the rest of the story, but you'll pay dearly—ten thousand gold in my palm, right now. Try to haggle, and I'll split you from stem to stern.
- You: You'll have your gold, assassin. Tell me what Delera needs to know.
- Hargo Kimmare: I lied! I lied to everyone to save my reputation. I was ordered to kill the Baron and his wife. After killing the Baron, I couldn't bring myself to kill the rest of his family in cold blood so I let the wife and daughter flee to Khorvaire. (Advance chain)
- You: That's absurd. I'll not pay a copper to such as you. (Walk away)
- You: You'll have your gold, assassin. Tell me what Delera needs to know.

Talking to him after making him confess will make he say:
- Hargo Kimmare: Our business is done—Unless you bring the wrath of Delera's ghost on my head. If that happens, I promise I'll drag you down to Dolurrh with me.
