Description: Greigur d'Deneith is a Sentinel Marshal.

House Deneith Enclave[edit]

If you try to talk to him at anytime, he will reply:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: Get out of my face, soldier. If I want to talk to you someone will let you know.

If you have finished the required flagging quests, however, he will reply:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: So, you're the one who's been spearheading the recent Blood Tide operations? That was good work. Coming from me that's high praise indeed.
  • Greigur d'Deneith: We've got those pirate scum on the run and now we're about to finish them off with one final blow. I want you in on the kill.
  • You: Thank you, sir. What's the plan?
  • Greigur d'Deneith: Taggart came up with the plan. He's a soft-hearted fool about certain things, but the man knows how to organize a mission.
  • Greigur d'Deneith: We have a planning meeting scheduled for tonight to go over the details. Go inside the House Deneith Tower now and wait for us. We'll be with you directly.
  • You: Yes sir. I'll meet you inside the Tower. (Bestow quest)

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make he say:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: House Deneith is under attack and you're out here admiring the view? Get back in that Tower!

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: I never thought I'd see the day that the House Deneith Tower would come under attack. Good thing you were there, <name>. You're reckless and undisciplined, but you're a good soldier.

After completing the quest and taking the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: All right soldier, let's show those Blood Tide scum what House Deneith is made of!

The Tide Turns[edit]

When you enter the quest, he will be surrounded by Deneith soldiers, and scream:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: Get over here, soldier! We have an emergency on our hands!

Talking to him will give you the current status:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: I trust you're ready for battle, <name>! The tower has been invaded, and I'm sending you in to counterattack.
  • You: What happened?
  • Greigur d'Deneith: The Blood Tide is what happened! Captain Michael Tew and his cutthroats invaded the top of the Tower from their airship, the Crimson Moon.
  • Greigur d'Deneith: They've taken most of the building and beaten the surviving House Deneith troops back to the Tower entrance.
  • Greigur d'Deneith: It's an outrage that they could take the Tower so easily!! But we can't waste time on recriminations. We've got to get back on the offensive.
  • You: How do I fit in?
  • Greigur d'Deneith: I'll whip the men into shape here. What I want is for you to show these dogs that House Deneith fights back!
  • Greigur d'Deneith: Storm the foyer beyond the door, kill every pirate you come across, and confront Captain Tew. He's set up a command post at the top of the staircase.
  • Greigur d'Deneith: As soon as you've done that, report back to me!
  • You: No problem. Killing pirates is what you pay me for! (Update objective)

Talking to him again before confronting Tew will make he say:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: Don't report back to me until you've confronted Tew!

After Tew close the barrier on your face, Greigur will move to the top of the stairs. When you talk to him, he will say:

  • Greigur d'Deneith: Damn that pirate! He's activated the magical shields we use to protect the Tower. With those shields up we can't get to the upper floors!
    • You: Can you turn off the shields?
      • Greigur d'Deneith: No, not from here. But if we can't shut them down or go through them, then by the gods we'll go around them!
      • You: Go around them? How?
      • Greigur d'Deneith: There are old steam tunnels running between the Tower's floors. They've always been a security nightmare waiting to happen ... but today they'll lead us to victory!
      • Greigur d'Deneith: To get into the tunnels you need to find a soldier named Tobras Jorn - he's in charge of the tunnel entrance. With any luck he's managed to survive the assault.
      • Greigur d'Deneith: Once you make it through the tunnels, you can flank the Blood Tide pirates from behind.
        • You: Then we're still in the game. I'll report back after I've flanked the pirates and lowered the magical shields! (Update objective)
        • You: Any ideas where Tobras Jorn might be?
          • Greigur d'Deneith: Head down the stairs and then go through the next door. Tobras might be in either the armory or the trophy room.
            • You: The trophy room or the armory. Got it! (Update objective)
    • You: Why didn't you activate these magical shields when the pirates attacked?
      • Greigur d'Deneith: Because the system is designed to keep invaders on the ground floor out of the upper floors! The designers obviously didn't consider the possibility of attackers storming the top of the Tower from an airship.
      • Greigur d'Deneith: Tew must have learned about the shields from his spies. I'd like to kill him and his pet rodent personally, but I'm entrusting that task to you.
      • You: So what do we do now?
      • Greigur d'Deneith: There's a way around the shields ... but it's a carefully guarded House Deneith secret ...
      • You: Out with you secret, man! Tew's getting away while we dawdle.
      • Greigur d'Deneith: Your imprudence will cost you your tongue someday, <race>! But you're right. I have no choice but to trust you with the secret.
      • Greigur d'Deneith: The Tower has a collection of steam tunnels running through it. You can outflank the Blood Tide's forces on the upper floor by using those tunnels.
      • Greigur d'Deneith: You'll need to find a soldier named Tobras Jorn to open the hidden tunnel entrance. With any luck he's still alive and hiding in either the armory or the trophy room.
        • You: Then we're still in the game. I'll report back after I've flanked the pirates and lowered the magical shields! (Update objective)
