Golem race

Golems are magically created automatons of great power. Constructing one involves the employment of mighty magic and elemental forces.

The animating force for a golem is a spirit from the Elemental Plane of Earth. The process of creating the golem binds the unwilling spirit to the artificial body and subjects it to the will of the golem’s creator.

Qualities[edit]

Immunity to Magic (Ex) An iron golem is immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance. In addition, certain spells and effects function differently against the various golem sub-races, as noted the entry for each sub-race.

Unlike in PnP, most damage spells in DDO do not allow spell resistance. To combat this, golems instead have massive elemental absorption. 50% Absorption for ALL Energy types. This includes: Lightning, Cold, Acid, Sonic, Light and even force damage. This is new as of Update 9. Previously they were simply immune to all these damage types.
