Once again flesh golems roam the Orchard of the Macabre - even though their creator is reported to be dead. Travel to the Fleshmaker's Laboratory inside the Orchard of the Macabre and find out who is making these horrific constructs.

Known Traps

Trap DCs

• Acid/Poison spray; control panel, but easy to time
• Two sets of blade traps; 3 trap control panels for the traps. There's also a lever above that will turn them off briefly, and they can be timed.
• Lightning trap in the Warehouse; four control panels, one on each corner pillar.

Tips and Misc

• Bug: The quest journal incorrectly has Flesh Maker's Laboratory (epic) listed as level 26.
• A fairly straight-forward quest, although you have to drop down into the bowels of the laboratory a couple of times to proceed.
• The gate to the Assembly Area can be picked (its [DC:60] on Epic Normal is quite high) so you can avoid fighting your way to the Iron Key if you have someone who can pick the lock in your party.
• The five runes to summon Mentau must all be unlit within a very short amount of time (it's over the ~20 seconds, which is amount you get on Heroic) a longer time is given for pressing all the runes in Epic than in the Heroic version. The Air Elementals in the room respawn, so it can be useful to have somebody get all their aggravation and stand in a corner (to avoid being thrown off the ledge) while the rest do the runes. It's easily possible for one person to do 2–3 runes; more than that can be difficult, however. See below for a guide to soloing the runes.
• Once Mentau is destroyed, return to Tarin (Mentau's Bride), who will open the trap door in the control room; at the bottom will be a large central pillar with a rune, and four corner pillars. Disable the traps on the corner pillars, hit the rune, and destroy several waves of flesh golems! The Magical Portal beyond the chest will bring you outside.
• Trivia: Mentau the Flesh Maker is a reference to the mint Mentos, and its slogan – "Mentos... the Freshmaker"

Soloing the runes

Runes

With a hireling it is possible to hit all 5 runes. The plan is for you to hit 1, 3, 5 while your hireling gets 2 4. You will need to be fast on all these steps, don't bother trying this if you are lagging at all. An alternative is you hit 3, 4, 5 and your hireling does 1 and 2. See here at 6:40 min.

1. Lock your hireling in place near Rune 2. (Attack mode should be okay)
2. Drag all Air Elementals near Rune 2
3. Kill all the Air Elementals
   • It is possible to leave 1 or 2 since you can avoid them, but it is better if they are dead.
   • They respawn quickly so go fast.
4. Select Rune 2, and head over to Rune 1 (If you have auto target on you might have to turn it off)
5. Just before (1–2 seconds) before you get to Rune 1 Order your hireling to activate Rune 2.
6. Activate Rune 1.
7. While your animation is playing rotate around so you can target Rune 4, and order your Hireling to hit it.
8. Run for Rune 3 and activate it. (While you are heading there, look and see that your hireling is actually moving!)
9. Jump across to Rune 5 and hit it. (Not sure what the minimum Jump skill you need for this is)

This is very hard to get right, the respawn is fast and hirelings really don't like to do what you say. It normally takes me 4–5 tries at least, but it is possible.
