Description

A Fire Storm causes an area to become shot through with sheets of roaring flame, causing 1d6+8 fire damage per caster level to targets in its area.

Notes:

Fire storm has a maximum caster level of 20. Its area of effect is a little larger than a Delayed Blast Fireball. The spell itself has a long cast time, and even after the spell is cast it still has about a half second delay before damage occurs.

Targeting is weird. If you have a target selected, Fire storm will trigger right in front of you, it will not be cast at your target. However, if you have no target selected and are targeting with mouse-look, Fire storm has an infinite range. you can cast further than the effect will even be displayed. Note, however, that mobs will not spawn until you are close to them, so it can't be used to kill mobs from across the map without first causing the mobs to load by being near them. (so it can't be used to kill mobs in explorer areas without running to them first)-- Note: This was largely corrected with the spell pass in U48.4
