Casting time
The casting time is the time it takes to cast a spell. The Quicken Spell metamagic feat reduces the casting time. Sorcerers cast faster than other casters. Summoning spells and Heal, Mass spell are notorious for their slow casting time.
Cooldown is a related mechanics that can limit the casting speed.
