The release of Vecna Unleashed expanded Byron's lore through the book Fighting for Purpose: The Legend of Byron Scoutsword:
This book chronicles the life of Byron Scoutsword, famed hero of the Last War. It goes into considerable detail about his astonishing war exploits, as well as the time he spent searching for and preserving relics of the Last War after the Treaty of Thrane was signed.
The last chapter describes his retirements - how he now lives on a small, obscure island, helping new advetnrues find their place in the world.
