Korthos Village[edit]
If you have not talked to your Class Trainer, you are a Druid or Artificer, or if there is no quest available in the Korthos tutorial quest series:
- Braij Lin: A powerful bard can woo hearts and cow enemies. And a song can sting as sharp as any blade. I can teach you to enthrall audiences as a bard.
- You: Spend action points on enhancements.
- You: Advance to the next level as a bard.
- Braij Lin: (if you have no Bard levels) Are you certain that you wish to multiclass into the bard class? If you are currently on a path, you will leave it by doing so.
- You: Yes, I still wish to train with you.
- Braij Lin: (if your charisma is less than 16) I must warn you that your charisma is too low to cast the highest level bard spells. You need an charisma of at least 16 to cast 6th level bard spells, though you do have some time until it becomes an issue. Do you still wish to train?
- You: No, you are right. I will choose another class. (ends conversation)
- You: Yes, I still wish to train with you.
- Braij Lin: (if you don't have enough XP to level up and have at least one Bard level) You do not have enough experience to advance.
- Braij Lin: (if you have enough XP to level up and have at least one Bard level) (open Advancement UI)

- You: Exchange one of your spells for a different one.
- Braij Lin: Spell exchange is a long and difficult process. Only one spell may be exchanged every 3 days. What level of bard spell would you like to swap?
- You: Exchange Level 1 Bard spells.
- Braij Lin: (if you don't have any Level 1 Bard spells) You do not have any spells of that class and level to swap.
- Braij Lin: (if you have at least one Level 1 Bard spell) (open Bard Level 1 Spell Exchange UI)
- You: Exchange Level 2 Bard spells.

- Braij Lin: Spell exchange is a long and difficult process. Only one spell may be exchanged every 3 days. What level of bard spell would you like to swap?
- You: Reset your enhancements.
- Braij Lin: (if you have no Bard levels) You must hear the song, not just listen to it. Move along so that I can teach our secrets to a true bard.
- Braij Lin: (if you have at least one Bard level) You can reset your enhancements in any public area by opening up your Enhancement Panel (Ctrl-R) and choose to Reset Tree or Reset All Trees.
- You: Ask for Bard advice.
- Braij Lin: Bards use their many talents to bring victory to their friends and death to their foes. Bards are welcome to any adventuring party as they contribute a ready blade, a spot of magic or healing, and a cheering song. What else do you want to know?
- You: What kind of armor should a bard wear?
- Braij Lin: A chain shirt or other light armor. Anything heavier would get in the way of your performance!
- You: What kind of weapon should a bard use? (see below)
- You: Tell me about bard songs. (see below)
- You: What is the most important secret to being a successful bard? (see below)

- You: What kind of weapon should a bard use?
- Braij Lin: Use a longsword or, if you wish to be stylish, a rapier. If you decide discretion is the better part of valor then a shortbow allows you to attack from the rear.

- You: Tell me about bard songs.
- Braij Lin: Bard songs can help your allies and thwart your foes. The Inspire Courage bard song will make you and your allies more effective in combat, while the Fascinate bard song will stop your enemies in their tracks. You will learn more bard songs as you increase in level.
- You: What is the most important secret to being a successful bard?
- Braij Lin: Seek out friends to adventure with! Bards are most effective in a group because their songs, spells, and abilities are oriented towards teaming up with others. If you have no friends, then buy some in the form of handy hirelings.
