If you try to talk to him anytime, he will reply:
- Berne Jorn: Oh dear, oh dear, I have to visit my ancestors' crypt before they begin haunting me....
- You: Is something wrong?
- Berne Jorn: I have a problem... how shall I put it... I need someone to clean out my family's crypt! Spiders! hundreds, nay... thousands! They sought shelter from the recent rains and now they won't scurry off!
- Berne Jorn: And given my somewhat slight phobia, I'm too scared to go down into the Jorn Family Crypt.
- You: Spiders? Not giant man-eating spiders? Not zombie spiders? Not flame-spewing mechanical spiders? Just... spiders. Hmmm.
- Berne Jorn: Yes, spiders. It's a fear I've had since I was a wee tyke.
- Berne Jorn: The Jorn estate would prefer that you use some finesse while down in the crypt. I'd rather you didn't swing swords and cast spells willy-nilly around my deceased relatives.
- You: I'll do it. (Bestow quest)
- You: Not really my business, friend. Maybe someone else can help. (Walk away)
- You: Spiders? Not giant man-eating spiders? Not zombie spiders? Not flame-spewing mechanical spiders? Just... spiders. Hmmm.
Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make he say:
- Berne Jorn: Good heavens, I can still hear their scuttling little legs! You simply must deal with the spiders in the Jorn Family Crypt... what?
- Berne Jorn: Oh my! No, no... just a leaf blowing across the street. My eyes must be playing tricks on me....
On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:
- Berne Jorn: I suppose it's safe to go back to the crypt now that those spiders are gone. There will be some cleaning to do, perhaps some repairs judging from the look of you.
- Berne Jorn: Oh dear... are you sure you got them all?
- You: Don't worry, Master Jorn. The spiders are gone and with this weather, I doubt we'll see them again until the next rainy season.
After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:
- Berne Jorn: The conquering hero! The spider slayer returns! Welcome, O scourge of the eight-legged!
