Flametouched Iron armor gives a +1 resistance bonus on saving throws against the spells and abilities of evil outsiders. Evil outsiders in DDO include hell hounds, fleshrenders, fire reavers and ice flensers.

Flametouched Iron weapons are treated as good-aligned, so they will bypass the damage resistance of fleshrenders, fire reavers, ice flensers and ghostly skeletons.
