Casting ability

Your casting ability is the ability that governs your spellcasting effectiveness.

• The highest level spell you can cast is your casting ability - 10. If your casting ability is 10 or lower, you cannot cast spells!
• Your casting ability modifier affects your maximum spell points.
• Your casting ability modifier adds to your spells' saving throw DCs.

Depending on your class, your casting ability may be Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma.

• Wizards use Intelligence
• Bards and Sorcerers use Charisma
• Clerics, Paladins and Rangers use Wisdom
• Favored Souls use Charisma to determine maximum spell level and spell points, but use Wisdom to determine spell DCs
